On Saturday, AQUA SE organised the first edition of the Nyír-Chem junior water polo cup, inviting three strong teams.

Among the invited teams were Miskolc and Debrecen, both with OB I adult teams, and MATE-GEAC-MSA from Gödöllő, led by three-time Olympic champion Dr. Gergely Kiss, who is developing dynamically. The tournament followed the "Champions League Final Four" format, with two semi-finals and two play-off matches in front of a large crowd at the home pool in Nyíregyháza.

AQUA SE's U14 team played a match that could be considered a final against PannErgy-MVLC-Miskolc, where they lost to their opponents in a great battle, 12-10. In the other semi-final, MATE-GEAC-MSA won a confident victory against Cívis Póló VSE. The Nyíregyháza youngsters were thus pitted against Debrecen in the bronze medal match. AQUA SE controlled the match throughout, winning 13-6 with nice goals and a spirited game to claim the bronze medal.

In the final, two teams of similar ability, PannErgy-MVLC and MATE-GEAC-MSA, competed against each other. At the end of a thrilling, nail-biting match, the team from Gödöllő was the luckier in a penalty shoot-out and won the tournament. During the cup, the best player of each team was awarded a special prize, with Dominik Simon from Nyíregyháza coming out on top.

Bronze Match:

AQUA SE Nyíregyháza - Cívis Póló VSE: 13 - 6 (3-0, 5-4, 1-1, 4-1)

Final:

PannErgy-MVLC - MATE-GEAC-MSA: 6 - 6 (1-2, 1-3, 3-4, 5-3, with penalties: 4 - 5)
