Swimming Camp 2024 will take place from 24 June to 31 July 2024, completely free of charge for the children participating in the programme. The camp is open to children who have already participated in the programme during the school year.
Aims and Plans of the Swimming Nation Programme
The Swimming Nation Programme is a comprehensive and unique plan to introduce swimming education for pre-school and primary school children up to the end of second grade. The programme aims to make safe swimming accessible to all children, regardless of gender, age, identity, social, physical and mental status. The NAP focuses on educational, infrastructural, professional and methodological areas to ensure successful implementation.
Long-term objectives
The long-term goal of the programme is to educate children to lead healthy lives and improve their quality of life. Swimming, as a sport, contributes to children's physical and mental development and helps them to learn to use water safely, which can also serve as a life-saving skill.
Medium-term objectives
The medium-term goals include enabling all children to learn to swim safely in water by the second grade of primary school. In this way, the programme will not only promote a love of sport and regular physical activity, but will also contribute to the development of children's self-confidence and social skills.
Registration and Participation
To apply for the free swimming camp, children must have already participated in the Swimming Nation Programme during the school year. This gives children the opportunity to further develop their swimming skills and develop an even deeper connection with water sports.
